In recent times we have had a makeover and our image is no longer, the Women’s Institute, we are Everton & Lymore WI. and we enjoy being part of the National Federation of WI’s with all the opportunities that it represents.
The WI is the longest established group in the village and have enjoyed continuous membership since 1922, we will be celebrating our Centenary in 2022.
We are a friendly, diverse group with many interests that meet at 2.30pm in St Mary’s Hall on the third Wednesday of each month. As members of the Hampshire Federation and our Lymington Group of WI’s, we regularly take part in training and events giving us the opportunity to meet up with friends old and new in other WI groups. Our monthly craft group enjoys demonstrations, sharing skills with each other and preparing our exhibits for the New Forest Show.
At our main meeting each month we have a large selection of speakers on many different subjects and an annual summer outing – which will probably include a cream tea!
The WI has a long association with the wider Everton community participating in the Summer Fete and tending the planters on the Village Green.
